when you join a group, you'll be able see who else belongs, send messages to other members via paintspace, and read and post in the online message board specific to that group.

each group is created and administered by a paintspace user, and may be set up as public--meaning anyone may join--or private--meaning you must request and be accepted by the group admin to join.

joining groups is free with the basic profile, but you must have a premium profile to create or administer your own groups.
